The Ghana Association of Former International Civil Servants (GAFICS) has donated ten computers to schools in Winneba. The donation was part of GAFICS support to the efforts of SHAPE Attitude Ghana in promoting environmental cleanliness among pupils in Winneba schools through change in attitude.

Receiving the computers, the Director of Education of the Effutu Municipality, Rose Tenkorang, thanked GAFICS for the donation and SHAPE Attitude Ghana for facilitating the process. The Director of Education gave the assurance that the computers would be used for the purposes intended and also ensure that they are well maintained.  As the computers could not be installed immediately, due to lack of UPS to stabilise power supply at the two centres slated to receive the PCs, she made an appeal to the Effutu Municipal Assembly and other well-meaning citizens of Winneba to assist in acquiring them. Four units of 2000 KVA capacity of UPSs are needed.

Radio Peace of Winneba also received one computer and two by SHAPE Attitude Ghana, all intended to support activities on environmental cleanliness.

The computers were supplied to GAFICS by Mr Andrew K. Asamoah Snr, Executive Chairman of A&C Development Company and immediate past President of GAFICS. Over forty computers have so far been donated to schools in the Central and Greater Accra Region.
