GAFICS meets in Winneba and pledges to support Shape Attitude Ghana
The Ghana Association of Former International Civil Servants (GAFICS) met in Winneba on Thursday, 18 August 2016 for its monthly meeting which is usually held in Accra on the penultimate Thursday of every month. The Association met for its regular meeting and to show solidarity with Shape Attitude Ghana’s project on sanitation.
In his briefing to GAFICS, the founder of Shape Attitude Ghana, Wonderful Baisie Ghartey, who is also a member of GAFICS, gave the background to the project and the activities that Shape Attitude Ghana undertakes.
On behalf of GAFICS, the President, Mr Andrew K. Asamoah, a former director of the World Health Organisation, pledged donation to the project. He advised Shape Attitude Ghana to identify specific areas where members of GAFICS or other individuals could help. On this note, some members raised funds towards the purchase of dustbins.
Mr Asamoah has been personally supporting the project financially and in other diverse ways since its inception.
Present at the meeting were Mrs Chinery-Hesse, former Director General of the International Labour Organisation and Prof. Kolawole Raheem, Head of SACOST, University of Education, Winneba.
