SHAPE Attitude Ghana at the 20th Anniversary of Seventh Day Preparatory School

A durbar was held by the Seventh Day Preparatory School in Winneba on 11 August 2017 to mark the 20th anniversary of the School. The theme chosen for the occasion was on holistic education.

The guest speaker for the occasion spoke about holistic education which he explained was not about the orthodox classroom education but rather the ability of one preparing himself for analytical thinking in all spheres of life. He called on parents and teachers to work together to achieve it.

Mr Wonderful Baisie Ghartey, founder of Shape Attitude Ghana, in his good will message also spoke about the need for all stakeholders to come together and take action for achieving holistic education.  In doing so, Mr Ghartey stated that holistic education also requires the adults to show good example at home for the young to emulate. He cited good sanitary conditions, especially indiscriminate littering and dumping of refuse which the adults have failed the young with our negative practices. He challenged the adults to change their attitude and adopt positive one for the young to follow.

Mr Ghartey seized the opportunity to talk about poor management of time which he said impacts negatively on productivity and economic development. He said the practice whereby invited guests show up two to three hours late to functions cannot be said to be responsible enough, especially for adults. It is an attitudinal issue which has to be addressed and adults must show good example.

Present at the durbar were the Head of School and Community Science and Technology Studies, University of Education, Winneba (SACOST/UEW) Professor Raheem Kolawole, PTA Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Bortsie, The Chief of Ankamu, Nana Okofo Acquah, the Headmistress, Mrs Abigail Jenake, parents and teachers of the school.
