Shape Attitude Ghana Embarks on Community Sensitisation Programme in Ansaful

Winneba, Ghana - On Tuesday, 4 March 2025, Shape Attitude Ghana, a leading advocate for community development, visited the Ansaful community in Winneba to promote cleanliness and hygiene practices. The event was held at the invitation of Mr Joseph Armah-Cole, a respected opinion leader in the community.
During the sensitisation programme, Wonderful Baisie Ghartey, Director of Shape Attitude Ghana, engaged community members in an interactive discussion on proper waste disposal, the importance of avoiding littering, and adopting good hygienic practices. The discussion was further enriched by the participation of nurses from the Ansaful Community Health Centre, who emphasised the significance of a clean environment in preventing diseases.
The nurses highlighted the severe consequences of neglecting environmental cleanliness, citing cholera, malaria, and typhoid as examples of diseases that can have deadly outcomes if left untreated. They urged community members to prioritise cleanliness, wash their hands regularly with soap and water, and maintain a tidy environment.
The event was well-received by the community, with active participation from Mr Armah-Cole and enthusiastic engagement from the audience. The discussion was marked by a series of questions and answers, demonstrating the community's eagerness to learn and adopt better hygiene practices.
As a token of commitment to the community's health and hygiene, Shape Attitude Ghana donated posters and a dustbin to be used during the community's monthly "weighing" sessions. The posters will serve as a visual reminder of the importance of proper hygiene practices and help create awareness about disease prevention.
The Director of Shape Attitude Ghana was accompanied by Ms Grace Idbo Asaasim, a National Service Person from the University of Education, Winneba. The event was co-hosted by Ms Joycelyn Dampson and Ms Frederica Cassah, Community Health Nurses from the Ansaful Community Health Centre, along with Mr Armah-Cole.
This community sensitisation programme underscores Shape Attitude Ghana's dedication to promoting community development and improving public health through education and awareness.
