Tourism Society of Ghana (TOSOGA) awards Shape Attitude Ghana
Shape Attitude Ghana received an award from the Tourism Society of Ghana (TOSOGA). The award which was in the form of citation and plague was awarded at a gala night marking the end of a week-long festival dubbed YOTOFEST (Youth in Tourism Festival).
The theme for the festival was “Youth, Tourism and Sanitation” with the aim of promoting domestic tourism. In formulating the theme, thought was given to the that fact sanitation forms an integral part of the tourism industry and deserved to be given recognition. Therefore, TOSOGA took cognisance of the role Shape Attitude Ghana has played and continue to play in promoting good sanitary and hygienic conditions in Winneba and its environs in the past eight years of its existence. Shape Attitude Ghana targets the young ones in sensitisation and awareness campaigns and TOSOGA found it very much in line with theirs too, the youth that they are targeting for domestic tourism.
A two-day clean-up was organised by Shape Attitude Ghana, the Chief of the Effutu Traditional Area, and ECOZOIL of Zoomlion as part of the YOTOFEST activities.
The event was hosted by the University of Education, Winneba, and attended by pupils and students from the basic schools, vocational and tertiary institutions. Youth and elders from the communities also participated in the event.
