Catch them Young

The good book admonishes us to “Teach the child the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Prov. 22:6. Also, there is a popular saying which goes that “You cannot teach an old dog new tricks”. Both statements give a clear indication that, it is much easier to inculcate a particular habit or behaviour into people when they are young. A grown-up can turn over a new leaf and refrain from a particular bad habit but as observed most at times, it does require a lot self-discipline and regular monitoring which makes the transition difficult for most grown-ups.

Although Shape Attitude Ghana’s educational campaigns are meant for the general public, our main target group is the young ones. We catch them young mainly in schools, religious associations and where children are gathered for social activities. We believe that when children are sensitized to practice good sanitation habits, they will grow with that attitude and become responsible adults in the society.
