Friends of SHAPE Attitude Ghana from Switzerland visit Winneba schools

School pupils in Winneba have been urged to continue to play the role of agents of change to stop indiscriminate littering and dumping of refuse. This advice was given by John Kennedy Sumo and Yann Ziolkowski from Geneva, Switzerland, when they visited some schools that SHAPE Attitude Ghana work with on 31st October 2019.

Mr Sumo emphasised on the diseases that are caused by poor sanitary conditions especially, malaria, and urged the pupils to stop littering and carry the same message home. Mr Ziolkowski on the other hand pointed to degradation of the soil and the environment in general caused by littering of plastics and advised them to stop littering and drop litter at the appropriate place. The Heads of the schools also added to the call for their pupils to keep their surroundings clean.

Mr Sumo accompanied by Mr Ziolkowski visited a cluster of schools where the winner of the 2018/2019 Stay Clean Award, University Practice School South Inclusive under Mad Emma Frimpong, is located. The other schools in the cluster were UNIPRA South ‘A&B’ under Mad Joana Amo-Brown and UNIPRA South ‘C’ under Mad Yacoba Fynn. They also visited the Municipal Assembly Primary School ‘A & B’ under Mad Emma Esi Donkoh.

The two, Messrs Sumo and Ziolkowski, were on holidays in Ghana and took time to visit Winneba to familiarise themselves with the work of SHAPE Attitude Ghana. They were accompanied to the schools by the Project Director of SHAPE Attitude Ghana, Wonderful Baisie Ghartey and Mr Daniel Borketey, a national service personnel assigned to the Organisation.

It is the second time Mr Sumo has visited SHAPE Attitude Ghana in Winneba. The first was in 2015 when he delivered posters from Geneva to the Organisation.
