The Akwantufo Welfare Club whose main focus is to help the needy and the vulnerable in society donated 27 trash bins to the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Winneba on September 25, 2015. The trash bins are to be disbursed to some selected private and public schools in the community.
Mr. Wonderful Basie Ghartey, director of Shape Attitude Ghana and his team paid a second visit to the University Practice South Inclusive Primary School in Winneba on September 16, 2015 as part of the sensitisation drive in schools for environmental cleanliness. The visit was a follow up of the first one he made on June 24, 2015 when he promised the pupils of follow visits to continue the discussion on littering and keeping the environment clean.
On September 13, 2015, Shape Attitude Ghana presented a trash bin to the Ebenezer Methodist Church in Winneba. The director of Shape attitude Ghana, Mr. Wonderful Basie Ghartey who presented the item indicated that the donation was to remind individuals present at the congregation on the need for environmental cleanliness. He cited that, usually when persons found creating waste or littering are approached, their first excuse is “they would clean up later”. Most often as he has observed, they leave the premises without tiding up.
Shape Attitude Ghana received the first wire transfer of funds as donation on 9 September 2015.
The donation was made by Mr. Emmanuel Woode, a staff of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) Headquarters in Geneva.
Ms. Angela Karmand, a staff at the Headquarters of the World Health Organisation and Ms Anne Buckley a retired staff of WHO and UNAIDS donated CHF2.000 (Two thousand Swiss francs) and Euro1,000 (One thousand Euros) respectively to Shape Attitude Ghana in August 2015. The total amount is about US$3,200. The two are friends and former colleagues of the founder of Shape Attitude Ghana, Mr. Wonderful Baisie Ghartey.
Shape Attitude Ghana in collaboration with the Centre for School and Community Science and Technology Studies of University of Education (SACOST/UEW) Winneba, held a review meeting on 30 June 2015 to mark the first anniversary of Shape Attitude Ghana.
