Awareness campaign on littering and environmental cleanliness continues in churches

Shape Attitude Ghana continues to raise awareness on indiscriminate littering and environmental cleanliness in churches. Two churches were visited in January 2016, namely the Eden Revival Church and the Christ Apostolic Church in Winneba. The congregations in the two churches were reminded of the dangers we expose ourselves to by littering and dumping refuse indiscriminately in our surroundings.

Two key organisations continue with their collaboration on keeping the environment clean

The Council of Churches Winneba Branch and the Ghana Education Service of the Effutu Municipality have restated their collaboration to work with Shape Attitude Ghana in the campaign against indiscriminate littering and dumping of refuse as well as open defecation. The assurance was given to the Director, Shape Attitude Project, at separate meetings with the organisations on 12 and 18 January 2016.

“Sanitation for all” and “Killing the barbaric act”

Two plays, the first to be produced by Shape Attitude Ghana in collaboration with the (CCHN) College of Community Health Nurses in Winneba and SACOST (Centre for School of Community Science and Technology Studies) of (UEW) the University of Education Winneba , go online.

The plays titled “Killing the Barbaric Act” and “Sanitation for All” were displayed in a live performance the first time in September 2015 at the 10th Annual General Meeting of Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions in Cape Coast.

Shape Attitude Ghana takes its sensitisation campaign to a training centre

Primarily, Project Shape Attitude Ghana targets young children from ages 3 and 4 in schools and any other locations where they can be reached. Adults are also reached mainly in churches but Shape Attitude Ghana responds to requests from businesses and individuals to give awareness talk on indiscriminate littering and open defaecation at their work places. 

Shape Attitude Ghana embarks on second round of sensitisation campaign in churches

Shape Attitude Ghana took its sensitisation campaign on littering to the Zion Church of Winneba on Sunday, 8 November 2015. The visit was the second time to the church in the second round of visits to churches in Winneba to raise awareness on the challenges the country is facing on indiscriminate littering and dumping of refuse and open defecation.

Shape Attitude Ghana pays tribute to Mr Ali Paul Bruno

Shape Attitude Ghana has lost one of its first volunteers. Mr Ali Paul Bruno died on 11 October 2015 after a short illness. He passed on at the age of 26. He celebrated his 26th birthday on October 5, 2015.

Mr Bruno was a former student of the University of Education, Winneba who graduated with a second class upper division in 2014. He completed his national service in August 2015.
